In this Design: Elegant, highly traditional arrangement of delicate Lady apples, grapes, evergreen, and ribbons. The sprays and garlands of this design work throughout autumn and into the Christmas season. Lady apples are also known as Christmas apples, and Lady is one of the oldest known apple varieties, having been cultivated in France since the 1600s during the reign of Louis XIII. In the years since, she has painted many botanicals, exhibited, taught botanical painting at the New York Botanical Garden and made tutorial DVDs.
