London based pastry maker, Tom Smith, invented the Christmas cracker after a trip to France where he was inspired by their bonbon treats. When he returned to London he tried selling the paper wrapped sugared almonds himself with little success. That is until inspiration struck one night as he sat listening to the snaps and pops of his fireplace. What if he could make the treats crackle like the fire when opened? Little did he know that this thought would be the beginning of a timeless Christmas tradition. Crackers evolved from treats to notes, and finally to the trinket-filled, paper wrapped, popping cardboard tubes we know today. Crackers are a perfect addition to your Thanksgiving or Christmas table, your Christmas Eve, or Christmas morning traditions. Use them in your place settings, as tree ornaments, stocking stuffers, and more.

This box includes six individual 12 inch long crackers, each containing three items: one tissue paper crown, one joke, and a surprise toy trinket. Each of the cracker's three segments is wrapped in classic Caspari paper and separated by a bow. Individuals or partners grab the end segments and pull to pop open the center section with a “bang” and reveal the prizes inside. When pulling as a pair, prizes can be divided up or a winner of all the prizes can be determined by who holds the larger portion of the cracker once it's pulled apart.
  • Our Christmas Crackers each feature classic Caspari paper designs and additional luxury embellishments, such as 3D die-cut appliqués, special ribbon, and more unique details.
  • Each Christmas Cracker contains one surprise trinket from our assortment, one foil crown, and a joke.
  • 6 Christmas Crackers per Box
  • 12"L Crackers
In this Design: A perfect mix of high style and whimsy; chic leopards stalk through a winter wonderland decorating, toting gifts, and playing in the snow and ice. Pairs perfectly with Katharine Barnwell’s Zebra and Tree.

Artist or Collection Biography: Katharine Barnwell is a classically trained artist living and working in New York City. Her studies began in Florence in the studio of Signorina Nera Simi, continuing in New York at the Art Students League, The National Academy and Pratt Institute. Barnwell paints a full-scale original oil painting of flora or fauna on wood, has a high resolution scan made, and sends it to her carpentry studio. There, the painting's silhouette is laser cut out of wood. It is a painstaking process that each season yields a small batch of beautifully made objects, including fire screens, umbrella stands, and freestanding decorative paintings.
