Neil Morris
Born in Hertfordshire, England, Neil Morris began riding at age seven and soon developed a passion for horse racing. After early experience in fox hunting, exercising racehorses, and amateur steeplechase riding, he came to the U.S. in 1984 to work at Mill Ridge Farm in Kentucky, where he learned breeding and sales preparation. Returning to England, he trained under leading horsemen before moving permanently to Virginia in 1988, where he refined his approach to flatwork, jumping, and overall horse development.
In 1991, Neil became the private trainer for Kinross Farm, leading a 26-year partnership that earned more than 25 championship titles, including victories at the Iroquois, Keeneland, Belmont, Saratoga, Monmouth Park, the International Gold Cup, the Carolina Cup, and three wins in the Virginia Gold Cup, where his horses set the all-time track record.
Today, he trains publicly from a boutique stable of about 35 racehorses in Middleburg, Virginia, and also serves as Master of the Orange County Hunt.
