Our Newest Partnership With Paige Gemmel
Have you visited an art gallery and felt so inspired that you longed to take a piece home with you? Most people have, but acting on that desire often isn’t feasible. At Caspari, we love supporting the work of independent artists and museum collections. By licensing and featuring their art on our products, we provide an opportunity for everyone to enjoy fine art that would otherwise be out of reach, and your purchase generates royalties that are paid directly to the artist or museum.
One of our in-house designers came across Paige Gemmel’s Etsy shop, Pink Lion Dog, and our whole team instantly fell in love with her incredibly chic, vibrant original paintings. Her subject matter and lively sense of color are a perfect match for our aesthetic here at Caspari – think “Chinoiserie with a twist” - and so we were thrilled when she agreed to license some of her artwork with us. Paige has worked with other partners such as Anthropologie and Spanx, and we are beyond excited to be included in such a small club of lucky brands featuring her artwork.
Paige is a self-taught artist and a Florida native, and you can see those Florida roots coming through in the juicy colors she uses so beautifully in her paintings. Paige is anything but a painter of traditional chinoiserie scenes. She dispenses with the commonly seen formality of the style to create works of bold color and unabashed whimsy. The result is a look that is nearly irresistible in its playfulness and originality.
It was a struggle to choose just one of Paige’s artworks to reproduce – we wanted all of them! But we are excited to share our very first collaboration this Spring. Invite her Monkeys design to your next at-home cocktail hour, pen a note to a faraway friend, or send a chic Thank You to someone for a kind deed. When we can gather again, polka-dotted Monkeys and their delectable-looking bowl of fruit will be there waiting for your next dinner party invitation or menu card!
We hope you find as much delight in Paige’s work as we do. You can explore more of her wonderful world of color on her instagram and Etsy shop.
