SCALAMANDRÉ
Originally designed in 1945 for Gino of Capri restaurant, Flora Scalamandré skillfully hand-drew the signature motif, Scalamandré Zebras design. Following in the 1960's, Tigre Silk was introduced by Franco Scalamandré becoming an enduring symbol of classic luxury. Branching into palampores, or tree-of-life patterns, Pondicherry features an exotic tree softened with detailed flowers & foliage, accented with small birds and animals, a signature of this historic design.
